after reading The Trial, by Franz Kafka

(on guilt)
[...] don’t go out looking for guilt among the public; it’s the guilt that draws them out.
(on women)
<<a woman's hands will do many things when no-one's looking>>
(on classrooms)
given behind the protection of a raised hand
(on funny gifts)
[...] you can keep all your hearings as a present from me
(on courts)
court affairs appear in their range of vision often without their knowing where they come from and they move on further without their learning where they go.
(on courts)
No documents ever get lost, the court forgets nothing
(on actions followed by decisions)
It was impossible to remove his doubts as to whether this was the right decision, but this was outweighed by his belief in its necessity.
(on acting smart and not being)
But there’s more that he doesn’t know than he does.
(on trying)
I will only accept this so that you don't think there's anything you've failed to do
(on law)
"as if you accept it you'll have to accept that everything said by the doorkeeper is true". No, you don't need to accept everythin as true, you only have to accept it as necessary. Depressing view. The lie made into the rule of the world.
(on moon)
The moonlight lay everywhere with the natural peace that is granted to no other light.
