First post on my new website portfolio. I have been searching the net for a portfolio app site that can best fit all of my needs and I stumbled across this one. Although I have been experiencing some glitches and errors trying to figure this new monster out, the web support has been very helpful and quick at getting back to me fixing the problems which makes for a better experience. They had fixed concerns faster than any other web support I ever dealt with, so in hopes of that continuing, I am hoping making this my permanent home.

Here's my submission for MOBY's music video competition on Genero.tv
Made for fun using all the footage I shot out of the plane windows over the years and short bits of animation.
The judging has started. Wish me luck!

5th Animation Anniversary!
June 20th, 2017, 10:33PM
Hi!
Welcome to my tiny corner of the internet. I know it's been a bit since I last posted, but starting a blog habit seems to be tough for me. Anyway today is the 5th anniversary of me being a professional animator, and I thought it'd be nice to start a new tradition and do a 100 day study of something. For this first one I'm doing walk cycles, I found a video over on Facebook a few days ago and had this idea. 100 Walk Cycles. I'll probably update this later some more, I'm gonna go figure out how I want to set the scene up and the process. Thanks for stopping by!

So, the first day was late. That's fine, the whole point of this challenge is to improve, and that's not just for animation skills. But, finally here it is. The first walk cycle of the 100. I'll admit, I've always had a problem with knee popping, and the weight seems a bit off. I also am going to start timing how long I take making them. Hopefully see an improvement by the end of it all. I'll be posting a second video up later today, but that's after I get some time to chill. Tell me how you like it!
I'm having some trouble with the embed code, so we'll have to deal with this link for now. Sorry!
Enforcing New Habits
June 27th, 2017, 8:36AM
...is always tough at first. I mentioned that this wasn't just to improve animations but getting into a daily animation habit. In any case I caught up on 2 of the animations, but still behind quite a few, so I'll be doing more than one a day to catch up. Which will make doing just one a day a bit easier. Anyway, here are cycles 002 (feminine) and 003 (sneaky). I feel as if I got the feminine walk to like 90% but there are still some disconnects, a bit of stiffness in the movements I need to correct. I totally ignored the head which I remembered to take care of in the sneak. The sneak felt a lot better, although I'm pretty sure I have some poses where he's off balance by not having his weight over the correct leg as it's moving. It kinda matches the reference but the balance on it can be improved, as well as animating large arm movements in FK. I think that this time I could have actually done the arms in IK and not had a terrible time, but even in FK it was still pretty simple which was nice. What do you think?
004 Angry Walk Cycle

Yo! Finally starting to get in the swing of doing this everyday. Always takes a bit to get up to speed. I've got some cool ideas for the next couple cycles, start adding improvements to the overall quality of these. On to the cycle, this time, it's an angry walk. I feel I got most of the energy although I think I could have maybe pushed it a bit more and made it more of a stomping motion. I might adjust this and make an edit of that later actually.. I still feel that I need to take a closer look at the head movements and push that cause I'll be honest I've been not really giving it much attention.
